Career Opportunities after completing the Master of Nursing Practice (Pre-registration) at CDU

Graduates of the Master of Nursing (pre-registration) course meet the education criterion to apply for registration as a Division 1 Nurse with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).  Possible career opportunities for registered nurses are in public and private health settings and specialty areas such as mental health, community health, acute and chronic care.

Academic requirements- Successful completion of a recognised bachelor’s degree or equivalent international qualification.

  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic Module – A minimum overall pass of 65 and 65 across all modules (reading, writing, speaking, and listening).
  • TOEFL internet-based test (IBT)- A minimum overall score of 94 and a minimum 24 for listening, 24 for reading, 27 for writing, and 23 for speaking.

The indicative annual fee for 2021 for a full-time study of 80 credit points is AUD 32,850.40.

  • Global Excellence 50% first-year then 10% subsequent years.

Flinders University has always valued academic excellence and to reward high academic performers the university has introduced Flinders University Go Beyond Scholarships for all international students pursuing an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate course in 2021. The scholarships in the offer are namely the Vice Chancellor International Scholarship, Excellence Scholarship and Global Scholarship.

The Vice Chancellor International Scholarships 

The scholarship is valued at a 50% reduction in tuition fees for the duration of the eligible program and has the following requirements:

  1. Undergraduate international students require an equivalent minimum of raw ATAR 95 or above and submission of vice-chancellor international scholarship form.
  2. Postgraduate international students require an equivalent of 6.5 GPA or above and submission of Vice-Chancellor International scholarship form.

The Vice Chancellor International Scholarship is competitive in nature and students should submit their applications by: 

Semester 1, 2021

  • Offshore applicants 27 November 2020
  • Onshore applicants 29 January 2021

Semester 2, 2021

  • Offshore applicants 30 April 2021
  • Onshore applicants 30 June 2021

The successful applicants are required to participate in the Flinders International Ambassador Program and actively engage in promoting the university globally. 

Excellence scholarships 

The Excellence Scholarship is valued at a 25% reduction in tuition fees for the duration of the eligible program. It is available only to commencing undergraduate international students and require an equivalent minimum of raw ATAR 80. There is no need to submit a separate application. 

Global scholarships 

The Global Scholarship is valued at a 20% reduction in tuition fees for the duration of the eligible program and has the following requirements:

  1. Undergraduate international students require an equivalent minimum of raw ATAR 70 or above and exceed the Flinders entry score by 5 ATAR.
  2. Postgraduate international students require an equivalent of 5.0 GPA or above.

There is no need to submit a separate application.

Scholarships Terms and Conditions:

  1. Available for commencement in Semester 1 and 2 of 2021.
  2. Available to new students only.
  3. Open to full fee-paying international students of any nationality.
  4. Available to applicants of an eligible course* 
  5. Students must meet the entry requirements outlined for each scholarship in addition to meeting standard entry requirements including English language requirements, any topic pre-requisites or work experience.

* The following courses are excluded from the Go Beyond Scholarships scheme:

  • Bachelor of Clinical Science/Doctor of Medicine
  • Bachelor of Medical Science (Vision Science), Master of Optometry
  • Bachelor of Nursing (Graduate Entry and Pre-registration)
