MIGRATION SA UPDATES

Today IMMIGRATION SOUTH AUSTRALIA has informed that The Commonwealth Department of Home Affairs has provided a limited number of skilled and business visa nomination places to the Government of South Australia up until the Federal Budget is delivered on 6 October 2020.

Who will this benefit?

This update will be useful for those temporary residents of SA that comply with Visa eligibility to lodge a 491 and 190 visas. Nonetheless, this state allocation aims to prioritise and support SA’s economic recovery and public health response.

If you are looking to operate a new or existing business in Australia, there will be options for you as well.

What should I do now?

Prospective applicants of 491 and 190 visas will be able to lodge an Expression of Interest (EOI) and an invitation to submit an online application for state-nomination will be sent to prospective applicants with EOIs that meet Commonwealth and South Australian priorities.

When can I lodge my visa?

The Government of South Australia will publish state nomination requirements on 27 August 2020. From 31 August, South Australia will commence reviewing EOIs and sending invitations to submit an online application.

For business owners, from 7 September, SA will commence reviewing Intention to Apply submissions and sending invitations to submit an online application.
