What you will study

The students in the 2-year and 3-year program need to complete 12 weeks of Industrial Experience (students can be exempt from this provided they can submit suitable evidence). Students seeking to enrol in the 1-year program are not required to complete the industrial experience component. The following specialisations are available:

Requirements, intake dates and location

Academic Requirement:

  • 3-year MPE program: STEM-based Bachelor degree, other than engineering, with at least 20 units (UON equivalent) of mathematics covering algebra and linear calculus.
  • 2-year program: A named Engineering degree in an aligned discipline area to applicant’s preferred MPE. The degree must be equivalent to the Sydney Accord standards.
  • 1- year program: A University of Newcastle Engineering degree, or equivalent, in the same discipline area.

English Requirement: IELTS score of overall 6.5 with no band less than 6.0 or equivalent

Intake: Semester 1 and Semester 2

Location: Newcastle
